HATRIQA: UCL Institute of Education Ranked No.1 Globally for the 12th Year in a Row
HATRIQA are delighted to see that University College London's Faculty of Education and Society (IOE) has maintained its position as the world's leading education institution for an incredible 12th consecutive year, according to the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject.
This remarkable achievement marks over a decade of excellence in the field, with the IOE holding the top position for education as a subject every year since 2014.
HATRIQA's continued connection with the IOE remains one of its most valued relationships. Mark Bailey, HATRIQA’s Director of Education and teaching fellow in English at the IOE, recognizes the significant role the faculty has played in HATRIQA's development:
"The IOE's consistent excellence in education research and practice has been fundamental to HATRIQA's growth and success. Their commitment to evidence-based approaches and innovation in education has helped us develop high-quality learning materials and effective educational products. This latest recognition of their global leadership is well-deserved and reflects the extraordinary expertise and dedication of their community."
HATRIQA\s journey with the IOE began through their pioneering EDUCATE programme at the Knowledge Lab, which provided crucial support in refining our ideas and enhancing our products. The programme, established to address the gap in research evidence within the educational technology sector, has become the world's leading research accelerator for EdTech ventures by connecting innovators like HATRIQA with academic expertise.
In addition to the EDUCATE programme, HATRIQA benefited from support at UCL's entrepreneurship hub, BaseKX, operated by UCL Innovation & Enterprise, which has been instrumental in nurturing many of the university's most promising startups.
The 2025 QS World University Rankings highlight IOE's exceptional performance across key factors including academic reputation, research output, and graduate employability. The rankings also recognize London as the premier city for study, offering a vibrant academic environment and rich cultural experiences that enhance knowledge exchange.
Professor Li Wei, Director and Dean of IOE, acknowledged this achievement by extending gratitude to "all our academic, professional service, and honorary staff, students, alumni and supporters all over the world," noting that "IOE is a truly amazing faculty at the forefront of transdisciplinary research and teaching across the social sciences, creative and cultural industries, and technologies."
HATRIQA continue to be inspired by the association with this world-leading institution and look forward to building on the relationship to drive innovation in education that makes a real difference to learners worldwide.
