HATRIQA: UCL Institute of Education ranked No.1 globally for the 11th year in a row
The institution that launched HATRIQA has been ranked No.1 globally for the 11th year in a row.
University College London’s Faculty of Education and Society (IOE) has once again been ranked first for education in the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject.
The news marks more than a decade of leadership in the field having been ranked top for education as a subject each year since 2014 by the QS World University Rankings.
HATRIQA’s Director of Education, Mark Bailey, is a teaching fellow in English at the IOE and the faculty has played a huge role in the development of the company.

Through their EDUCATE programme at the Knowledge Lab, the team were able to refine their ideas, enhance the quality of the products, and ensure the academic rigour of the learning materials. It’s a testament to the IOE’s commitment to fostering educational innovation that they were able to help incubate the program in this way.”
The IOE and partners established UCL EDUCATE to redress the lack of research evidence in the educational technology (EdTech) sector, matching business innovators such as HATRIQA with academic research to ensure EdTech delivers effective learning, and in the process becoming the world’s leading research accelerator for EdTech ventures.
As well as taking part in EDUCATE, HATRIQA also received support from UCL Innovation & Enterprise at BaseKX, UCL’s entrepreneurship hub in Kings Cross which hosts the University’s most promising startups.
